Berube)펜실베이니아주립대학교 에드윈 얼 스파크스 영문학 교수이며 인문학 연구소 소장이다. 2012년에는 미국현대어문학협회Modern Language Association 회장을 역임했다. 『영어와 관련된 직업Employment of English: Theory, Jobs, and the Future of Literary Studies』, 『좌파만 남겨진 전쟁The Left at War』, 『자유전공학부에 과연 자유가 있는가？What’s Liberal About the Liberal Arts？: Classroom Politics and “Bias” in Higher Education』, 『우리가 아는 삶Life as We Know It: A Father, a Family, and an Exceptional Child』 등 여러 권의 책을 집필했다.
