Sandra C. Paivio캐나다 온타리오주 토론토에서 개인 클리닉을 운영하고 요크대학교 심리 클리닉(York University Psychology Clinic)에서 임상 교육을 제공하고 있으며, 윈저대학교(University of Windsor) 심리학과 명예교수이다. 특히 복합외상에 적용되는 정서중심치료(EFTT)의 개발자 중 한 명이며, EFTT의 효과와 변화 과정을 평가하는 임상 실험을 수행했다. 외상과 심리치료에 관한 다수의 저서를 집필했다. 여기에는 『Working With Emotions in Psychotherapy』*(Leslie S. Greenberg 공저), 『Emotion-Focused Therapy for Complex Trauma 초판』(Antonio Pascual-Leone 공저), 『Narrative Processes in Emotion-Focused Therapy for Trauma』(Lynne E. Angus 공저)가 포함된다. 그녀는 미국심리학회(American Psychological Association)에서 제작한 여러 DVD에 출연했고 정서중심치료의 공인 트레이너(국제정서중심치료협회; International Society for Emotion Focused Therapy)이며 EFTT에 관한 수많은 국제적 임상 교육 워크숍을 진행했다. 더불어 복합외상 치료 연구 및 교육에 기여한 공로로 캐나다 심리학회 외상 분과(Trauma Section of the Canadian Psychological Association, 2014)에서 평생 공로상(Lifetime Achievement Award)을 수상했다. 대표작
