조정연고려대학교 북한학과에서 통일정책을 전공하고 정책학 박사학위를 받았으며 2022년부터 통일융합연구원 연구위원으로 있다. 통일부 산하 사단법인 남북경제연구원(2019~2022) 연구위원을 역임했으며 국립통일교육원 통일교육위원(2022~현재), 민주평화통일자문회의 자문위원(2023~현재), 서울특별시 평화통일기반조성위원회 위원(2022~현재), 경기도교육청 남북교육교류협력위원회 위원, 대한민국시도지사협의회 남북협력자문위원회 위원으로 활동 중이다. 주요 연구실적으로는 정책과제 「통일환경 변화에 따른 새로운 중장기 통일정책 연구」(통일부, 2023), 「북한 핵 위기 시 국민보호 대책 연구」(행정안전부, 2023), 「북한해역 수산자원 조성사업 협력 방안」(해양수산부, 2023), 「북한 ICT 국가규격(KPS) 조사분석 연구」(TTA, 2023)에 공동연구원으로 참여하였다. 주요 논문으로는“The Implication and Political Communication on Stamps of Kim Jong-un Era: Based on the 10th Anniversary Stamp Collection of Kim Jong-un.”(공저자, 2023), “A Study on the Evaluation of North Korean Statistical Services by Statistics Korea and Quality Improvement Directions.”(공저자, 2023), “A Study on the Characteristics of North Korea’s Normalization and Standardization System in the Kim Jong-un Era: Focusing on the Reports of the Rodong Sinmun.”(공저자, 2022)이 있다. 대표작
